Welcome to my new website.
At the end of 2015 I decided to step away from my old website as it had become completely overloaded and cluttered with a huge number of old images. It was the accumulation of many years of adding and removing endless galleries of ballet photographs and it had become near impossible to maintain and to remove much of the obsolete clutter. Management of the galleries was extremely difficult and also very slow. It was easy to delete a gallery of images to make way for a new gallery but the images still remained on the server and manual removal of images one-by-one via an FTP program was just too slow.
Time and the advent of Flickr meant that the former site was no longer needed as a way of sharing my ballet photographs with the Queensland Ballet dancers through the password-protected galleries that were necessary to keep the images hidden from the public.
Now that web sites generally are required to be mobile and tablet friendly it seemed an appropriate time to make a clean break and that I should take the old site off-line and make a new start with a more modern look.
This website will reflect my key photographic interests which includes dance, people and travel plus my love of the power of monochrome images. However my first love remains photography that involves people - and in particular photography that involves the challenge and the beauty of capturing dance.
